We're different.
As a new game development studio, we have come a long way from just an idea to what has evolved into our first game, What’s on the Menu?! We also know that just creating a game that we are truly confident in, isn’t enough. We believe that earning your trust and delivering on our promises is crucial. First impressions are truly important, which is why we want to share with you our 5 core principles we have at Boiling Point Games.
Quality, Respecting Your Time, Engagement at the Table, Replayability, and above all else, Fun. These are the five core principles we live by at Boiling Point Games. As gamers ourselves, we believe that these core principles must always be top of mind.
It's a really easy game to pick up & play with friends. The more you play the deeper the strategy goes. The jokes on the cards & the chef theme leads to a lot of hilarious moments. Would recommend it.
What do you get when you combine food, fun and sabotage? What’s On The Menu from Boiling Point Games.

In What’s On The Menu players are trying to earn the most points by creating the best full course menu for their restaurant. Over the course of 15 rounds players collect menu and action cards to set up their unique menu. The menu cards are a mix across 7 courses (e.g., entree, soup), some giving straight points and others scoring based on various combos. Different action cards can be played at varying stages of the game, some helping a player’s board and others messing with their opponent’s boards. If that wasn’t enough there’s one more twist to consider. Once a menu card is placed on a players board it stays face down and can’t be looked at again unless an action card allows it, requiring use of memory and strategy throughout the game. After the last round players reveal their menu cards, calculate their score and whoever has the most points wins!
😁 What we like:
Light and easy to teach
Quick to set up and play
Family friendly
Scales well across player counts
Good player interaction
Fun art and theme
😕 What people may not like:
Luck of when cards come out
Remembering face down cards
Take that aspect
Overall take:
What’s On The Menu is a quick moving game that has a fair amount of player interaction, strategy and just plain fun. Even with 15 rounds it moves fast. If it feels too long a shorter version of 8 rounds is included in the rules. I love the components, especially the boards that look like restaurant menus. The theme comes across throughout the game and the take that element keeps you on your toes trying to optimize your board and mess with others at the same time. My kids loved this and asked to play it multiple times since learning it. This is definitely a keeper for us!

What's on the Menu? is a tableau management, take that, memory game that attempts to have players create their own menu of items that score the most points after 15 rounds of play. Action cards to change things up and a constantly rotating list of menu items keeps the game fresh and interesting. Some of the font choices and text size is less than desirable but the quality of art and player space greatly make up for it. If you enjoy a light take that tableau builder made for families then this is gonna be right up your alley. If you're not a fan of a bit of rng and take that then this likely will not be for you. Heavy gamers will likely be staying away from this title as well, however I can easily see this game in a casual gamers shelf any day. (Review subject to change based on final production value as we currently have a prototype in our possession)
Played What's on the Menu? At dice tower west. It is a really fun game that cam be played by the whole family and a group of friends. I feel it is great for casual games and heavier gamers who want a quicker game in between. The game is very silly and fun. It is very easy to learn with quick set up. The game play is simple with varying levels of strategy and competitiveness. The artwork and theme is hilarious and fun. Overall I highly recommend What's on the Menu? To everyone and can not wait to buy it!
Played a Pre-Kickstarter version at Dice Tower West 2022 and really liked the pace of concept of the game. Nice balance between personal goals and take that; a couple action cards felt a little too mean.
